Shane Lowry takes a four stoke lead at the British 2019 Open by shooting and 8 under 63.
Lowry took the solo lead Friday with a two putt birdie on the par 5 12th hole.
Brooks Koepka made two bogies on his last three holes to fall back to seven under.
According to the weatherman, today is looking like it could be a good day for some low scores. Will be interesting to make two bogies if the field can take advantage of the good weather and scoring conditions.
Rory Mcilroy was very unhappy by missing the cut by just one shot in the Open.
Rory made a great charge but just ran out of holes to be able to play in the weekend. Rory was somewhat emotional after failing to make the cut as he felt he had let his supporters down. After all, he was playing in his backyard and at the course he had shot a 61 when he was just sixteen.
Rory said that sometimes playing around the world so far from home you forget sometime about all the hometown supporters that are cheering for you. So at the closing holes , he felt he was playing for all of them as well. I felt like a ton of bricks hit me today.

Rory, like Tiger Woods, got off to a bad start on the first day by shooting a 79 , one shot higher than Woods 78.
Tiger misses second cut for the year.
Speaking of Tiger Woods, he missed another cut. Tiger feels that his age and all the operations may be catching up to him. His physical limitations might curtail the ability to play at the level required to win Majors.
Tigers’ play on Friday was much better scoring a one under for the day. However, his 78 on the first day became a high hurdle to overcome.
It is too bad about the health issues for Woods, as who knows what he could have accomplished if he could have stayed in good health. But this is what can happen when kids start playing sports too early when their bodies are still developing.
“I just torqued my setup differently, just tried to make some minor changes, swing-wise,” Woods, 43, said. “Because, let’s be honest, I don’t have the flexibility I used to have, and never will. So I’m going to have to make those adaptations”.
Tiger knows that part of his problem in not playing well is due to his reduced playing schedule as he tried to give his back the rest it needs,
“I just have to continue doing what I’m doing,” he said in regards to his approach, which has limited him thus far to 10 starts this year. “I’ve gotten so much stronger over the past year working with my physios and trying to get my body organized so that I can play at a high level. It panned out; I won a major championship this year.”
